Northern Ireland Hair & Beauty Awards 2018 (part 1)

So Sunday 8th July the Northern Ireland Hair and Beauty Awards were held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast. The salon (HighMaintenance) was up for 3 awards, Natalie was up for Colour technician, I was up for stylist and our salon was up for Team of the year.

So the prep started long ago when we asked all our amazing clients to nominate us. And that they did! We were so chuffed that each and every one of you guys took the time out to give us a nomination! It really means the world to us!

Then when we found out we were through to the final. that's when the real prep work had to start! The dress, the accommodation, the jewellery, the new bag (you always NEED a new bag) then the week before our hair needed to be coloured immaculately, our nails polished to perfection! Then comes the military operation that comes into play the weeks leading up to the big event. The moisturising, exfoliating de fuzzing and tanning.

Then the packing.... how are we supposed to pack all our daily essentials into a suitcase? Me being me left this part to the very last minute and had a little panic attack when I started to pack my case. But anyway I got sorted and headed to our meeting point. And we were on route to Belfast.

once we arrived at our apartment for the night we got to work on our own hair and makeup. I always love taking my time getting ready for a night out. and there's a bit more pressure when you're going to be in a room full of hair and beauty professionals.

Dolled up and looking glam, we headed to the awards! ....
